Health Safety in Aviation

The Coronavirus has long existed, but a new strain has terrifyingly swept the world by spreading quickly without any clear indication of when the spread of the disease will slow down. The virus strand was once isolated to the country of China but suddenly popped up in various other countries thanks to public transportation.

Travelers have a right to be wary when flying as airborne illnesses can easily and quickly spread due to being near infected passengers for any period of time.  Currently, the newest strand of the Coronavirus is the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). This aggressive strand has the world’s nations on notice as well as cleaning crews with many of the disease’s hosts arriving to new countries via aircraft.

While Mira Vista Aviation is a private charter and aircraft management company, thus making the likelihood of disease contamination very small, we take no chances by keeping our aircraft clean through an enforced, mandatory cleaning check after each flight. The Flight Crew does a light pickup by sweeping, dusting, and wiping down surfaces following a flight. Still, a professional team freshens the cabin post-trip going segment by segment in the cabin, leaving no cushion unturned. These cleaning crews wash and dry all items on the aircraft from décor, cabin structures, framework, and all else.

Typical household cleaning products cannot be used due to the pressurization of the cabin during the flight. The change in the cabin can enhance ingredients like ammonia or chlorine to atomize and become overwhelming to the passengers and flight crew. This can cause various reactions depending on sensitivity. While the cleansers used are still effective disinfectants, at this time, the CDC (Center for Disease Control) has noted that only alcohol-based products are known to kill the novel Coronavirus.

Mira Vista Aviation has not been affected by the spread of the disease. Should a passenger be quarantined as a potential carrier, the aircraft would be subject to grounding, and Mira Vista Aviation would work with health authorities to ensure the proper cleaning takes place. The CDC has noted that cleaning a surface only slightly lowers a person’s chance to become infected though those precautions are suggested.

The primary way to catch Coronavirus is from being within six feet of someone afflicted, which is the distance respiratory droplets, created when sneezing or coughing, can be inhaled or ingested by others surrounding the infected persons. The virus is also capable of spreading through medical masks, making the opportunity to come in contact with the Coronavirus greater.

Mira Vista Aviation aircraft are kept as close to mint condition as possible in respect for both our owners and passengers. Consistent maintenance doesn’t just keep the aircraft clean and ready to fly, cleaning also keeps the devices and textiles in top shape for longer. When you step on to a Mira Vista Aircraft, you can rest assured that the cabin is squeaky clean and ready for you to take it wherever, whenever.
