With another New Year quickly approaching and a glutenous string of holidays nearly over health is always atop everyone’s resolution lists.
For many, the gung-ho approach to health will include earlier days and a strict diet, but for many, it’s going to be the small changes that make the most significant difference in finding a healthy balance. While most start at home, Mira Vista encourages travelers to extend those small changes to the cabin. Though it’s easy to overlook travel as an area of refresh for the New Year it’s quite easy to make helpful changes.
First and foremost, mental health is becoming a significant focus on how to keep your body healthy. With your Mira Vista cabin entirely customizable to you, there are a few secure options to give yourself some headspace in air. Request a list of preferences to create the ultimate Zen cabin experience. Send your meditation music of choice to our sales team ahead of time; then, it can be played throughout the cabin as you meditate or ask for silence. Do you prefer plenty of light or somewhere darker and more peaceful? Light and window settings can be set after takeoff. Consider using aisleways and divans as spacious sitting areas as you reflect. Let the cabin crew know how long your mediation session will last to ensure there is no disruption.
In the right state of mind and feeling hungry? Don’t fall victim to caloric snack baskets. Before your trip, set a list of healthy snacks available on your flight, so no matter your mood, the options won’t confuse your diet. Include both salty and sweet, maybe even something indulgent but do so thoughtfully. A snack basket that flatters the waist may consist of almonds, fresh fruit, popcorn, rice cakes, jerky, a mix of seeds, grilled chicken or turkey, fresh veggies, parfait cup, eggs, dark chocolate, and selection of your favorite protein bar or mix. When traveling privately, you don’t need to restrict your options; however, do consider strong-smelling foods as they will linger in the cabin. Set the same mentality when selecting in-flight dining meals.
On a long haul back from the motherland? Exercise is not always easily done when in flight, but you do have a few cabin safe options. Gentle Yoga won’t work up a sweat, but it will help keep your blood flowing, and muscles loose aiding in relieving jet-lag effects. Also, gentle yoga poses won’t put you at risk of harming yourself should turbulence occur. Are you looking for something with a bit more oomph? Bring resistance bands on board — the stronger the resistance, the harder the workout. Resistance bands are used in coordination with different poses to strengthen muscles and can be used for an entire body workout. After getting your heart rate up, be sure to use a complimentary towel to wipe off and feel fresh upon arrival to your destination.
Have more health concerns or ideas? Just ask the Mira Vista sales team, they’ll work with our flight crew to ensure most every request is possible. We want to set you up for success in 2020. There should never be anything that stands in your way from making sure you are a healthier and happier you in the new year.
